As one of the Information Literacy Librarians, I am responsible for encouraging information literacy on campus. A member of the Learning & Research Services Team, I serve on the service desks, as well as teach instructional workshops and conduct individual consultation sessions. I create specialized Class Research Guides and some of the Library Research Guides. My teaching and research specialties are History, Appalachian Studies, and Anthropology.
I am a member of the the Information Literacy & Instruction Working Group, the WNCLN Committee for Patron-Web Services, the E-Learning Committee, and the Encore Synergy Implementation Project.
I serve on University Faculty Committees, including the General Education Faculty Coordinating Committee for First Year Seminar, the Academic Policies & Procedures Committee, and the University Research Council.
I am a member of the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, the North Carolina Library Association, and the Appalachian Studies Association.
