- Teaches Music Research for Performers (graduate)
- Performs in-depth reference service in music
- Manages the collection development of the Music Library collection, which includes books, scores, and audio-visual materials for classical, world, and popular music
- Curates the Max Smith Collection in the Special Collection Research Center, including the Matanya Ophee Collection

- The history of country music, especially bluegrass music from the 1940s to 1970s
- Performs on guitar and other plucked stringed instruments in various local ensembles
