Off-Campus Access to Library Databases

ASU students, faculty, and staff may use library databases from off-campus. You can log on using either:

your ASU username and ASU password

your last name and Banner ID

Please note: As of summer 2017, we are completing a move to a new authentication system and soon we will no longer have the option to use last name and Banner ID for logging in.

Tips and Tricks

Don't know your banner ID? Log in to AppalNet >  Personal Information tab > Display Banner ID

Access databases directly through the library website. If you try to access a library resource through a link on another site, you may not be recognized as an ASU affiliate. In addition, sometimes there are issues with accessing a library link from within AsULearn. Trying accessing the resource through the library's website:

Ask a Librarian. If you cannot log in to the library's databases, please contact us.

Report a problem. If you come across a problem with a particular database, please report the problem.

Try another database in your subject area. Sometimes databases have technical problems -- try another database listed in your subject area.

Never pay for a journal or magazine article! If a database does not recognize you as an ASU affiliate or if the library does not subscribe to a particular journal, you may be asked to purchase the article. The library can order articles for you through Interlibrary Loan.
