Children’s Christmas Book Exhibit in Special Collections

We Three Kings by H.A. Rey pictorial cover

A new exhibit, “Memories from Childhood:  Our Favorite Christmas Stories,” is now on display in Special Collections on the 4th Floor of Belk Library and Information Commons. The display draws on children’s literature relating to Christmas from the Historical Children’s Literature rare book collection and the W.L. Eury Appalachian Collection, both part of Special Collections. Special Collections staff and Dougherty Reading Room reference students chose their favorites from the collections for the exhibit. Included are a first edition of A Charlie Brown Christmas, Gloria Houston’s The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree, and a book of traditional Christmas songs illustrated by H.A. Rey, known for his “Curious George” series.
