We are pleased to introduce, Alex Simpson the new Librarian for the Hickory Campus Library and Information Commons effective June 19, 2023.
Alex will support the faculty and staff from the new Hickory Library and Information Commons. Alex is the former campus library manager for Central Piedmont Community College and was previously a librarian with the Charlotte Mecklenburg public library.
Alex Simpson was born and raised in North Carolina. As a kid, their favorite things were: creek-stomping, reading, and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. After graduating from UNC Asheville, they stayed in the Blue Ridge Mountains working with AmeriCorps Project POWER. Before they were a Librarian they were a barista and a professional counselor. As an adult, their favorite things are a good pair of socks, a good cup of coffee, and a well-made playlist.
