Books in the Library Catalog (WNCLN)
Lists books, videos, and periodicals owned by the three WNCLN libraries. Most books and periodicals owned by UNC-Asheville and Western Carolina University can be borrowed using the ABC-Express van service, at no charge, and received in 1-2 days.

Use this database to find books, dissertations, videos, manuscripts, and other materials-in thousands of libraries throughout the United States and in some other countries as well -- and borrow by using Interlibrary Loan without charge. Plan ahead, however, because Interlibrary Loan usually takes 6-10 days or more from the date you submit your request.

Philosopher's Index , SilverPlatter, 1940-present (updated quarterly)

The Philosopher's Index provides citations with abstracts to scholarly research in philosophy. Over 480 journals are covered, with 80 percent of the records from journals and 20 percent from books.

Arts and Humanities Search , FirstSearch, 1980-present (updated weekly)
Available on & off campus | about
Provides indexing to more than 1,300 arts and humanities journals and selected articles from 5,800 more social science and science journals. More than 1.4 million records include bibliographic citations.

MLA , FirstSearch, 1963-present (updated 10 times per year)
Available on & off campus  | about
Indexes 4,000 English language and foreign periodicals as well as books, book chapters, essay collections, and dissertations on literature, language, linguistics, and folklore.

Project Muse , Johns Hopkins Press, Full Text , 1995 - to date

Provides full text access to scholarly electronic journals in the humanities and social sciences from Johns Hopkins University Press and other university presses.
