In 2018, Theresa Redmond, Ph.D., Professor of Media Studies in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction; along with Tempestt Adams, Ph.D., Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum & Instruction; Jewel Davis, Education Librarian and Associate Professor in University Libraries; Jennifer Luetkemeyer, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Library Science in the Department of Leadership and Educational Studies; and Peaches Hash, Ph.D., Lecturer in the Department of English were funded by the university's campus-wide Humanities Council to create a what originally was a reading group. However, in time, this project expanded into an active and vibrant community of practice. Nowadays, the Creativity Collaborative is an interdisciplinary community of practice seeking to broaden repertoires of scholarship through creativity, community, and care in higher education teaching, research, and service through arts-based inquiry, creative pedagogies, and critical literacies. Its members have presented and published widely, working to bring attention to the increasing need to relocate teaching and research with attention to creativity and care, as well as modeling a cross-disciplinary community of practice that emphasizes care in their own campus areas. The group also participates in various events and book groups on campus, such as those offered through the Center of Academic Excellence and Still Point, as well as at regional, national, and international conferences and other professional meetings.
