The Game Development Room is a grant-funded room on the Lower Level of the library next to the Inspire Maker Lab that allows patrons to check out and play video games on a number of systems including virtual reality, as well as develop their own. A computer inside the room and another just outside are loaded with game development software such as the Android SDK, Unity game development engine, Unreal game development engine, and Game Maker Studio. The Game Development Room is located in Room 008 of Belk Library and Information Commons. For more information about Virtual Reality and Gaming, check out our guide.
Virtual and Augmented Reality
Using a Raspberry Pi, an old tv has been repurposed to allow users to play all of their old console and arcade favorites! Featured systems are Nintendo 64, Gameboy, arcade games, and more.
Booking and Using the Game Room
You can book the Game Development Room for a maximum of two hours. Video games for each console are located in the Game Development Room.
