The Appalachian State University Hickory Campus held its first dedication ceremony on February 28, celebrating the Mofford and Giffin Food Hub. The new hub will play a key role in the library’s ongoing efforts to combat student food insecurity. During the event, Dean Polanka and Dave Mofford delivered remarks emphasizing the importance of recognizing and addressing food insecurity among students.
"When our students designed the Hickory Library in 2023, one of the first things they asked for was a Food Hub. We were so pleased to incorporate this hub into our plans. Now David and Zac are are helping to extend this important work to our Hickory Campus," said Dean Sue Polanka during her remarks.
We are thankful for the donation of this new service for our Hickory Library.
