In the 2023-2024 academic year, the Hickory Library & Information Commons was inaugurated. In the last six months, five thousand faculty, staff, students, and community members have discovered a space for learning and inspiration. Additionally, study rooms have been reserved for over seven hundred hours. This year, the library will introduce a 3D printing service, a self-checkout machine, and collaborative programs with both internal and external partners, and will continue providing library instruction.
Last month Student Affairs created a Student Lounge area including TV, Nintendo Switch, skeeball, and pool table. Demolition has been completed for the second floor. Over the summer, construction will begin on classrooms and labs but despite limited availability this summer, Hickory Library opened for a banner year. We look forward to serving our campus community in the fall.
