The Information Literacy Basecamp Summer Institute was created to provide opportunity for library faculty and staff who have instructional responsibilities to gather together to share teaching, instructional pedagogies, and learning in community.
The 2024 IL Basecamp Summer Institute was held on June 6th at Valle Crucis Conference. We invited library colleagues to design, present and facilitate sessions during the event as an opportunity to share their expertise related to instruction.
The daylong event included an instruction activity gallery-walk, panel discussion on instruction in the disciplines, presentations on First Year general education courses, citational politics, and pedagogy.
Based on the feedback from the 23 attendees the opportunity to participate in an immersive experience is essential to strengthening the University Libraries Liaison program.
“This is a great opportunity for our faculty and staff to share ideas on information literacy and refresh and restart for the coming semester," said Dean Sue Polanka. “Their creativity and commitment to student success shine through this program.”
