Jenny Coffey has been hired as an Adjunct Instructor in the Instructional Materials Center. Jenny received her BS in Elementary Education and Masters of Library Science from Appalachian State University. Jenny will be teaching classes in the College of Education and assisting with collection development in the IMC. Her previous work experience includes being a preschool teacher, and a School Media Specialist in Watauga County Schools.
"I have a love for youth literature and sharing it with students. My favorite aspect of my role in the K-8 schools was working with reluctant readers and helping them find their gateway book and watching them grow into eager readers, " said Jenny. "I am so excited to work in a new and challenging field and with another level of student." "I am so excited to be a part of Appalachian State and I am so proud to be in the field of access to information for all."
Jenny is married and has two daughters. In her spare time she likes to read ( favorite genre is fantasy), go swimming, especially in the river, and explore new places.
