The University Libraries Advisory Council met on April 10 and 11. The Council attended the Children’s Literature presentation on the Hickory Campus on Thursday, April 10. The event featured a lecture by keynote speaker, Katherine Roy, refreshments and a book signing in the Hickory Library. The event also recognized Margaret Gregor, Coordinator of the Instructional Materials Center, Professor, Martha and Nancy Lee Bivens Distinguished Professor for Children and Reading, on the occasion of her retirement on June 30.
On Friday, April 11, the Council convened in Belk Library and Information Commons for a meeting that covered updates on various topics and a presentation from Interior Design Professor, Brian Davies and the students in Interior Design 2110 and 3320 who worked with the Libraries as clients this semester.
At lunch, the board moved to room 421 to participate in the annual Student Employee Scholarship Luncheon. The Council met recipients of their scholarship and the student supervisors were also invited to the luncheon.
