Professional Certifications

Several of our Library faculty and staff received professional certification.  Congratulations on all of your hard work!

Kelly Burket and Andrea Tester

After attending a Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence (PACE) conference funded by a Bivens Grant, Kelly Burkett and Andrea Tester received their PACE certifications.  PACE is the American Society of Administrative Professional’s certification program and is recognized by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE). The program is taught through an interactive, e-learning platform and is comprised of 4 learning modules.  

Agnes Gambill West

Agnes Gambill West receive a Certificate in Art Law from Sotheby’s Institute of Art.  The course provided an overview of important legal as well as ethical issues and cases in art and the market.  The class examined legal and business relationships among artists, dealers, collectors and auction houses; issues in legal title and restitution of artworks looted during the Nazi era; provenance, authenticity and the market; disputes and scandals related to forgery; trusts and estates. Participants also discussed copyright and the appropriation of images by artists (such as Richard Prince, Jeff Koons, Andy Warhol and others). Guest speakers on both sides of the Atlantic participated in discussions.

Angela Howell

Angela received certification from the Certified Archivist (CA) from the Academy of Certified Archivists.  This certification is important for increasing career opportunities and strengthening the integrity of our profession. Certification ensures a standard of excellence in historical preservation and access to primary resources and collections.

Mollie Peuler

Mollie Peuler received a Masters in Training and Development and the Quality Masters Certificate from NC State University.  The online Master of Training and Development degree program is designed for professionals who work as trainers, instructional designers, and program managers in business, industry, education, military, government and non-profit organizations. The online Master of Training and Development degree program provides the opportunity to explore Mastery of cutting-edge adult education tools and best practices for instructional design and curriculum development.  Human resource development knowledge and practice skills; Program design, development and management skills; Advanced understandings and skills in applications of learning theory incorporating principles, research and practice; and Skills and knowledge required to succeed in human resources and adult education careers.
