Jennifer Woods, in the Instructional Materials Center and RCOE faculty collaborated to introduce EDU 3000 students to using MakerSpace resources to support student behavior.
While in their field experience, education students used knowledge of different learning styles to analyze what types of tools would support a given focus learner. Students then used resources online and in the Makerspace to print fidgets for their focus learners. In one example students described a student that was often playing with materials during lessons. They printed the fidget ring below which has a center ring that spins, noting it "will stay on the student's hand allowing for the dominant hand to be free for writing and other activities."
