WATAUGA COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY OUTREACH TENT

For National Library Week (April 6-12, 2025), the Watauga County Public Library Outreach Tent will be stationed on Sanford Mall at Appalachian State University on Wednesday April 9 th and in the Belk Library Atrium on Thursday April 10 th from 1 to 4 pm. This exciting initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to make library resources easily accessible to students, faculty, and staff.  The visits will include displays and opportunities for students to sign up for a library card, providing them with access to a wealth of literary resources.

Key Highlights:

  • Library Card Sign-Up: ASU students can obtain a public library card on-site, granting them access to an extensive collection of books, digital resources, and educational materials. Students must bring a photo ID and proof of local address if not on their ID – this may include a lease agreement, piece of mail, bill, Amazon shipment email, etc.
  • Interactive Displays: The Outreach Van will feature engaging displays showcasing the diverse offerings available at WCPL. From bestsellers to academic resources, attendees can explore and borrow items directly from the mobile library.

Watauga County Public Library encourages all members of the Appalachian State University community to take advantage of this unique opportunity to connect with the library on wheels and discover the wealth of resources and services available to them.
