Dean Polanka presents to Academic Affairs Committee - BOT

by Andie Combs

On March 13, Dean Sue Polanka delivered a presentation to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees.

She provided an overview of the current state of the University Libraries and shared future plans for the facility. She highlighted the Libraries' research efforts, which include reviewing literature on emerging trends and hosting listening sessions with faculty and staff to gather their visions for the future of the library. A key part of the discussion also focused on the creation of a campus-wide survey that captured patrons' perspectives and suggestions for improvements.

The presentation offered the Committee a preview of what’s to come in 2025 for the University Libraries, including:
A new library catalog
A new discovery service
A new institutional repository
A new master building plan
New partnerships

Dean Polanka shared we’re excited to see these initiatives take shape in the coming year!
