The University Libraries celebrated National Library Week 2025 April 6–12.
Event highlights included:
- The essential roles of libraries and their staff through themed days, including Right to Read Day on April 7, which emphasized the freedom to read
- National Library Workers Day on April 8 was celebrated with morning pastries and juice for Library Employees
- National Library Outreach Day on April 9
- Take Action for Libraries Day on April 10
As part of the celebrations, Belk Library hosted outreach events in collaboration with the Watauga County Public Library, including a visit from the outreach van on Sanford Mall on April 9 and an information table in the library atrium on April 10, both aimed at signing students up for public library cards. Additionally, the Catawba County Public Library's "Library To Go" van visited the Hickory Campus on April 11 to connect students with library services.
