Greta Browning named Head of Special Collections

We are pleased to announce that Greta Browning will be the new Head of Special Collections beginning January 1st.

As Head of Special Collections, Greta will provide strategic leadership, vision, and oversight for Special Collections, which includes the Appalachian Collection, Stock Car Racing Collection, Rare Books and Manuscripts, and Public Services. This role ensures the effective stewardship, access, and promotion of collections while fostering innovation in public services, instruction, and outreach.

Greta has been working in special collections for 27 years, specializing in archival administration, rare book librarianship, and public history. She has worked in the University Libraries' Special Collections Research Center for nearly 20 of those years.
