Community Access
The University Libraries are open to community members and North Carolina public school teachers as well as Appalachian State University students, faculty, and staff. After midnight, Belk Library is only open to students, faculty, and staff only.

Parking
- Nights & weekends: After 5pm and on weekends, the College Street parking deck next to the library is free. Before 5pm on weekdays, the deck is reserved for faculty/staff with library deck permits. Deck parking is not available on football game days.
- Free 30-minute visitor spaces: There are 30-minute visitors spots in the Howard Street Parking Lot. Visitors with Chancellor Society Parking Permits (Annual), Vendor Permits, and Orange Visitor Vouchers are exempt from the 30-minute limit in visitor parking, as are vehicles displaying both a disability placard and a university permit.
- Other visitor parking: Pay by the hour or the day at the Rivers Street parking deck or use the metered spots along King Street or Hamby Alley.
