Presentation at the Association of Creative Techologies in Academic Libraries Conference

The Association of Creative Technologies in Academic Libraries (ACTAL) held its 4th Annual Meeting, November 5–7, 2025, at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

Continuing in the tradition of past ACTAL meetings—where creative library professionals gather to share their work in innovative, creativity-focused environments.

Hannah Pope presented a poster on how to create a mental wellness focused space in your makerspace called: "Creating Your Way Through Student Stress: Developing a Mental Wellness Area in your Makerspace".

In addition, she presented a paid, pre-conference workshop on "Bookbinding Your Own Journal", where she took fellow library colleagues from across the country and demonstrated how to create the workshop while taking them through the entire process.

Hannah said,  “I shared how App State University Libraries added a permanent area to our Makerspace as well as ideas for how to create one of their own depending on their  funding/space/programming.”  Hannah also shared, “my goal was to inspire similarly themed workshops at other academic libraries. I had the highest participation rate in the pre-conference, which was very exciting!”
