Special Collections hosted a Rhinehart Room Open House on December 3 offering students faculty and staff an opportunity to explore the Library's stately rare book room and see some centuries-old volumes.
The Bill and Maureen Rhinehart Collection on British History is a rare book collection of over 1,000 volumes that covers a wide array of topics and time periods. Publications date from the 1500s through the early 20th century. The collection was developed from the Rhineharts' personal library. The collection is housed in the Rhinehart Rare Books and Special Collections Room on the 4th floor of Belk Library and Information Commons.
The Rhinehart Room is located on the fourth floor of Belk Library, next to the entrance to Special Collections.
"We had a steady stream of patrons come into the space to explore," said Hannah Helmey, Public Services Lecturer Librarian in Special Collections. "We look forward to sharing more of what's in our collection next sememster.
