The Belk Library is adding a new dose of Mountaineer spirit with the installment of Yosef throughout the stairwells. The update transforms everyday pathways into energetic, welcoming spaces that reflect the university’s identity. By bringing Yosef into the Library, the space feels more connected to campus life and reinforces the Belk Library as a central part of the App State experience.
The stairwell designs highlight Yosef in motion, creating a sense of momentum that mirrors the movement of students, faculty and staff as they travel between floors. The visuals encourage engagement with the space while subtly reminding visitors that the Library is more than a quiet place to study, it is an active, supportive environment rooted in Mountaineer pride and community.
In addition to the stairwell Yosefs, the installation includes a wall dedicated to showcasing all that the Lower Level offers. This feature highlights the key resources, services, and spaces available to all. Together, these additions blend school spirit with information, turning the Library into a space that both reflects Appalachian State’s identity and invites discovery at every level.
