University Libraries CeLIBration Awards
The University Libraries at Appalachian State University recently held their annual Library CeLIBration, a cherished event that honors and awards outstanding work and achievements by Library Personnel. These awards, are particularly special as they are peer-nominated, reflecting appreciation from library colleagues.
Appalachian Spirit Award
The Appalachian Spirit Award is a recognition given to individuals who exemplify the “Appalachian Spirit” by fostering a positive work environment. This year, the award was proudly presented to:

Adam Baldwin (Staff): Access and Public Services, for his willingness to use his creativity to contribute to the library environment with his outstanding original artwork.

Hannah Pope (Faculty): Technology Services, for her willingness to go the extra mile in tours, workshops, and in the community in regards to the ever-popular makerspace.
Mountain Mover Award
The Mountain Mover Award celebrates individuals who have exceeded expectations by leading initiatives that significantly enhance the service and reputation of App State University Libraries. This year’s deserving recipients are:

Leigh Barnes (Staff): Instructional Materials Center, for her consistent support of others, her ability to offer ideas, and her ability to contribute in ways that make our work stronger and more connected.

Stephanie Bennett (Faculty): Resources & Discovery, for her multiple liaison responsibilities, her work to connect with faculty, and advocacy for our collections.
Group Award
This special recognition is bestowed upon a group or team that has collectively gone above and beyond in their efforts to elevate the service and standing of Appalachian State University Libraries. The team led the library’s efforts during the Alma migration. The Group Award for this year honors:
