Nicholas Erneston Music Library

The Nicholas Erneston Music Library, located on the second floor of the Broyhill Music Center, supports the curriculum of the Mariam Cannon Hayes School of Music and the University, and contains books, scores, and recordings.

All App State students, faculty, and staff may use the Music Library and borrow materials. Community members can also borrow Music Library materials with a community borrowers card.

Finding Us

The north side entrance of the Broyhill Music Center faces Walker Hall

Using the Library

Community Access

The University Libraries are open to community members and North Carolina public school teachers as well as Appalachian State University students, faculty, and staff.

Parking

The closest visitor parking is in the Rivers Street parking deck or the metered spots along Depot Street.

Policies

Most library policies are the same at all locations, but there are some exceptions:

  • Food is not permitted in the Music Library, and drinks must be in sealable containers.
  • Returns: Most borrowed materials can be returned to any App State library location, but recordings cannot be put in a book drop, and technology/equipment borrowed from the Music Library must be returned to the Music Library desk.
