Local community members and alumni can request a community borrower card to borrow library materials.
- The card costs $10 annually.
- Request a card at the library desk during regular operating hours.
- You will need to provide proof of eligibility and a valid email address.
- Review the community borrower card policy for details on eligibility and use.
With a community borrower card, you can borrow most items in the library, including DVDs from the movie collection and children's books from the IMC.
Some collections and services aren't available to community borrowers, like remote access to the library's research databases. You can use library's research databases from within the library building, and you can use use NC Live or free databases from home. See the Privileges section of the community borrower card policy for details.
Other community services
- You don't need a card to use the computers in the library. Just ask for a guest pass at the desk, and staff can show you which computers are available for public access.
